ive been wanting to buy a sewing machine for a while now , but just dont know where to start , i used to use i think its was a belina in school and they were really good robust machine but cant seem to find them so must have the wrong name
the type of machine i want is some that can sew thin leather easily and doesnt keep going out of line and the thread bunching up underneath .
i dont paticularley want a computrised one but if there good and have a few extras i dont mind i want me to do the sewing not the machine
so if anyone can give me some advice

Your school machine was probably a bernina. My best advice would be to find a real sewing machine shop and go and ask them. A machine that will sew leather is going to cost you a bit though!
thread bunching is due to wrong feed/pressure/stitch size/needle. Try Freecycle & charity shops. Can't beat an electric Singer; all singing & dancing :)
Bernina was the one our school had too... I have a newhome which has lasted me over 25 years and as far as I am aware they still make them
