Has anyone any remedy for the damp smell in old books?

I am sure that I have seen Kim and Aggie use used tumble drier sheets between the pages, but I wouldn't do that with valuable ones - Bicarb of soda gets rid of odours, but not sure if that would be safe to sprinkle between the pages.

Thank you Annie0000 I might try the tumble drier sheet idea, but bi-carb although useful in the fridge,may not be the best thing. They are not valuable books.
