Hello

I've just bought a new house.  I want to change the alarm code however, I dont know how to do this, as the previous owner did not leave a booklet.

it says Challenger Safety Products on the keypad and the location is South Tyneside.

Does anybody know own a similar alarm and can tell me how to change the code?

It could be tricky. On most generic alarm systems, there is a jumper setting on the main circuit board that can revert the codes to their default values (user code and engineer code), they are usually something simple like 9999. This would entail opening up the case and perhaps setting off the tamper alarm. But this jumper feature can be disabled by the installation engineer, so that a valid code MUST be entered at the keypad. The engineer can also set other features, so that you are required to contact the security firm every now and then to keep the system working, thereby keeping a customer and revenue for a lot longer than just the installation.
