My skin is very sensitive to washing powders, I never use biological ones but still get terrible itching. I feel that my washer is not extracting all the soap on the rinse cycle as when the clothes are dry the smell of soap is still evident. I am considering buying a new washing machine and my question is, can anyone recommend one which does a very good rinse please.
All washing machines have a rinse cycle that works independently of the main wash. I suggest you use that before you buy a new washing machine to see if that helps you at all.
i use a T...COs' supermarket own natural liquid detergent, supposed to be from plant extract as one of my clan had a skin reaction, it never happened after changing to this but only use the quantity required don,t overdo it
My wife maintains that clothes that get washed every time the are worn ... never really get dirty...For my work clothes she uses detergent...
But for everyday washing she uses these some laundry balls. They work a treat, and don't have any detergent in them.
I can only vouch for this brand though..Shop around on the net for the best price.
Honest they do work... we've been using them for over a year now. They paid for themselves in the first month.
For shirts + underwear etc I use Boots brand powder for sensitive skin and I repeat the rinse cycle at the end of the wash.
For other wash I use 'normal' powders. This works OK for me.
My husband has fairly severe allergies - we use Surcare washing powder or the washing balls mentioned above - also wash everything on a high temperature. It is unlikely to be the washing machine. What you could try as well is doing a 2nd rinse and spin after the washing is finished it's cycle. Do you use fabric softener?
it can be the perfume your are reacting to .. not necessarily always the enzymes in the detergent ... try a different fragrance of the same detergent .. see if a friend or colleague has some u can try before buying a whole box ...
