I have a and ABS capped strong stone shower tray. I am considering fitting a screen that requires screwing into the rim /top profile of the tray. Any suggestions as to the best method?

Dont! Sit it on top of the tray and silicon seal the outside of the screen but not the inside, so that water does not get trapped. The screen should get all its rigidity from the attachment to the wall.
