i went to the pictures when lady in red was out and saw what i now believe is a short film (i was only a kid at the time) it had rodney from emmerdale in it as a cheating husband and lady in red was played when he danced with his wife in a red dress a dress he had brought for his mistress but which she mistakenly thinks is for her can anyone else remember this as my husband thinks i've lost the plot i did for years think that was the video for lady in red but with hindsight i think it wa a short film as i say i was a kid at the time so my memory is a bit faded any help would be great thanks

Do you mean Patrick Mower?

Lady in Red was released in 1986, and Mower did very little between 80 and 97 - have a look and see if you can identify it from this list:

yes i do mean patrick mower i couldn't think of his name when i posted the question thankyou i have looked on his imdb file and not found the short film but i am positive it was him

Was it an American film? Could it have been Married to the Mob?

Could it have been one of the Tales Of The Unexpected short films? He acted on those and maybe Alfred Hitchock's short films?

in the film he was having an affair his wife stands outside a shop and sees this gorgeous red dress gets a bit blurry from there to be honest i can't even remember there being any dialogue just the lady in red song anyway she goes away and he turns up at the shop and buys the dress for his mistress his wife finds the dress in the house and assumes he's brought it for her they are going out that night and she wears the dress he can't believe his eyes and they slow dance to lady in red and he falls in love with her all over again it doesn't sound like married to the mob or a tales of the unexpected either theres no supernatural vibe and again i can't remember any dialogue going on
