Toilet Trouble

Hi Folks
I hope someone can help with this. The water level in our downstairs loo was really high so my husband took the cover off the drains and it appeared that he had unblocked them using some drain rods as the level went back to normal for a few days then the level went really low and some gurgling noises came from the toilet. Yesterday the level was high again however today it is very low........ Can anyone help please. Thanks

..........possibly.......sounds like he's just moved the blockage further down the line.................any other manholes downstream that you could check?.........add another set of rods to the ones you've got and have another go...............
