the boiler is approx 2 years old. At 18 months it started to go to fault F1 at odd times. The service engineer could not locate a fault. Now it is happening almost everyday. Could it be the pcb or a faulty gas valve. I have e-mailed the glow-worm technical dept but had no reply and phoned @ 50p a minute just be cut off after 5 minutes.
Any suggestion would be most welcome.

This has probably nothing to do with it Mic................but, when I had this fault (different boiler) intermittemtly, it turned out to be the circulating pump not being set on a high enough speed. The hot water therefore wasn't getting away from the boiler quickly enough...........causing the thermal cutout to give this fault.....................sorry if this is totally irelevant :o)
what does the instruction manual say that fault 1 is ?
That is the code for an ignition fault. Check that the electrode is ok and the gap correctly set and that the wire is not loose or some foreign matter stopping or making the spark weak.

Thanks for your input. Got back from 14 days in Egypt last night to a locked out boiler, house a little chilly. Will investigate suggestions.
