I currently pay my gas & electric by a quaterley payment, am I better off paying monthly direct debit?
I'm also thinking of changing to one supplier for both the Gas & electric any suggestions on who's the best supplier (at the mo with British Gas for gas & NPower for electric)

With a monthly direct debit you don't get any nasty surprises when your quarterly bill tuens up :-)

Also some suppliers give you a discount if you pay be DD and also if you have both gas and electric with them.

Be aware that if you haven't been paying enough - given that fuel prices are going up on a regular basis now - when you change suppliers you might find that you have acheaper deal but you might find that you have a large bill come in from your original supplier because your payments haven't caught up with the price increases?

sorry should read 'had a quick look & looks promising'!!!
I still gotta say that I'd check with your current supplier first to make sure that your direct debit has kept up with the fuel increases. I just don't want you to be hit with a hefty bill, just make a quick call, I certainly would.
Sorry for direct debit read quarterly payment, I think you'll find that many of us are going to find that we haven't paid enough to keep up with price increases and won't find out until the next bill comes in.
I pay direct debits for all my utilities, but have just got statements where my electric and gas (both with NPower have gone up 12 a month each, and my water, a staggering 24 a month
I'm with Scottish & Southern Electric (they are national) and I am very pleased with them.
