For a big garden needing frequent or prolonged use of the gadget, I 'doubt whether' (sic) a battery one will be man-enough for the job. The clue is in the diameter of the size of the nylon cord it requires. You are going to need 2mm diameter cord, at least. The paltry 1mm or 1.5mm cords just won't be up to it. I think you are going to find that will mean petrol-driven.
From experience- if you are going electric I would avoid Flymo strimmers....I've had two and you are lucky to get two seasons from them....!
