wouldn't it have been easier to throw a dustsheet over the sofa before you started!

even though emulsion pants are water based once they dry they are pretty water resistant and hard to remove.

i would dry a soft cloth with hot water first, keep rubbing at the spots, they are more likely to break away from the leather from the friction rather than actually dissolve.
Most paints are water based so should come off with soapy water. Don't use anything harsh, I always find fairy liquid to be good!

Oops ;0)
............I guess the paint was a vinyl one..............so trying to dissolve it would probably dissolve the sofa as well :o(
Try to pick it off......it's the best you can do................

next time...............................:o)
dont you just love women and decorating! lol

my missus decided that she couldn't wait for me to paint the living room door and did it herself, instead of masking off the glass squares she slapped paint all over them, she then tried scraping it off but after spending an hr scraping one panel (of 15) gave up. then she painted the skirting board and got it all over the carpet.
