carring on to my last question on conservatories

she also has a soil pipe running down the house which would go in to the conservatorie which they said they would box in.is this allowed in building regs?

Yes, because conservatories don't require to meet Building Regs (unless they are over 30 square metres in area), But it going to look pretty silly. I wonder how they propose to seal the area where the downpipe comes through the roof. Not good building practice at all.
They sealed mine with lead and mastic. Unfortunately, my poo pipe had to run through the conservatory as it was in the middle of the back wall. I've boxed it in, put plasterboard up and artexed the wall...looks a treat.
down pipe could likely have a lead collar put on it to make the conservatory watertight
