I have a heavy wooden container on my patio (6ft x 1'6")
Planting my summer plants yesterday I found it was swarming with ants and a great big ball of ant eggs.
I sprayed it all over with deathlac and topped it up with new compost then put my plants in (trailing begonias, fuschia and geraniums). Will the ants eat my plants .
Should I do anything else to eradicate the ants?

if the ants are still about and you want to finish them off totally, if you go into wilko's ( and probably b&q etc) they sell a little round object that contains a poison that you put near your plants, the worker ants eat it, carry it back to the queen, feed it to her , and she feeds all the other workers and they all die. sounds bloody gruesome, but is spraying or using boiling water any more humane?
Ants wont eat your plants but could undermine the roots
