I have recently switched off the central heating at the timer control but left the hot water on to come on twice a day. Some of the radiators upstairs are still getting hot which means we are having to turn the off at the individual valves. How to I stop them getting hot?

hi, ours do the same. it is the heat rising and finding the highest point, although I thought the motorised valve would have stopped this. we have shut the valves off for the summer, cheapest option.
Your excess hot water is pumped into the heating system - this is why your rads are heating up. You could time the water to come on for less time twice a day - but your still likely to have the rads getting hot. This is quite normal.
