I have a proper wood floor (planks, not laminate) and I have family coming to stay next week. I want to polish it so it looks nice but have only just moved into the house and don't know what to use! I don't want to spoil it by using the wrong thing but I would like it to be a bit shinier.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Is your wood floor is waxed or varnished?
When I laid the elm floor in our living room I waxed it with one of these:

It'll polish it up a treat
Use liquid polish then lustre up with a soft cloth attached to a broom until your arms can't take any more. The more you lustre the more it'll shine. Mind you, you won't want anybody walking over it!!!!
