My 12 year old sons trainers/footy boots STINK!!! They smell like cat wee. Even when they come out of the washer. Its got that bad that i make him put them outside in a plastic bag. I.ve already tried foot shoe sprays and he doesn,t have athletes foot!!!

Try using biological washing powder. I was recommended that when a strange cat came into our house and weed on our carpet. I used Ariel powder and washed the carpet a few times and it really did get rid of the smell.

There can be a fatty residue left behind from cat wee - if there is, use surgical spirit to get rid of that.

thanks for that fusby x
Sorry this is a bit late....you could try baking soda-it is great for getting rid of nasty odours. Shake it liberally into the trainers-really coat them with it,then leave it overnight. They will probably stink even worse as the soda helps to draw the odour out, repeat this process several times...it should help.If not bin the smellies! I did this on my carpet when I had a very incontinent old dog and it really worked-good luck!
