I have just bought a LCD television, please can you tell me what i should clean the screen with. Its not like the old glass ones you could wipe with a damp cloth. When you touch it you can see where your fingers have been, its seems softer. Will it damage if i wipe hard?

What does the manual advise you to do?

The husband bought it, assembled it and threw the packing and probaly the manual away. I just need to get the finger marks off. It looks messy. I just need to know if you can get it wet
You can buy 'special' screen wipes. Alternatively, for a fraction of the cost you can use baby wipes. If you are really mean like me, you can use a damp cloth as I have been doing for three years. My screen is spotless and undamaged. I don't know what the elastic properties of the screens are so I avoid pressing hard on the surface.
I agree with HWKE. A damp cloth works for me.
I have just researched a little and found the recommendation that you should add a little vinegar to the water. I got the same advice from several sources. Here is one:

Thanks HWKE and TechGirl, I am new to this website and its nice of you HWKE to go to so much trouble to find out for me, thanks.
Yes HWKE, I have also heard vinegar is a good remedy although I have not tried this myself.

Another good one is a drop of lemon juice I believe.
