My everyday china teapot is badly stained with tannin, probably made worse as I live in a hard water area. Have tried old tip of Steradent tabs, maybe helped a bit but not much. Any other wise heads out there got a thought to help? Many thanks!

Try scrubbing with ordinary cooking salt and or soaking with washing soda crystals. Another old remedy is to mix up a paste of salt and lemon juice and scrub with that using the inside of the lemon to rub with. Good luck.
I find baby sterilizing solution with boiling water and letting soak very effective.
I regularly put my teapot(s) in the dishwasher. It helps if you have one!
I have used Mr Muscle Sink & Plughole Unblocker very successfully on a stainless steel teapot! It might work on a china pot. If you do try it, be aware that it contains sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and caustic soda, so take great care in use and rinse the pot thoroughly with hot water.
I would try filling it with warm water and biological washing powder and leave for a couple of hrs.
