For those of you following my previous problems

We have now gone 13 days without both hot water and heating at the same time.....

British Gas have sent 2 different engineers to fix the boiler on 6 different occasions since we raised a call with them.

The last planned call out was at 2pm yesterday afternoon with the engineer leaving us with a "supposedly safe to use boiler" despite a small drip from the underside with another planned call out for 1pm Thursday afternoon.

Then last night the boiler exploded at 9pm which necessitated an emergency call out via their incompetent *indian* call-centre (who told my wife that nothing could be done until Thursday).
My wife was in tears at this point - we just wanted someone out then - we were told OK within 4 hours (this was at 9pm last night) - Bear in mind that at this point we had a kitchen flooded with water a lack of electricity (the trip had tripped), we had (and still have) no hot water or heating (bear in mind the temperature at the moment) and to top it all we were both in shock from the "mini-explosion".
a chap came within 1 hour... and diagnosed a broken valve (again) - So what else can happen ?
I have a service manager and engineer coming tomorrow afternoon - if they don't get stuck in the snow !!!
........more tomorrow.....

this happened to a friend of mine they had to wait for five weeks, and 9 visits they claimed they had ordered the wrong part, three times they nevereven turned up.
friend arranged for someone from yellow pages to come out and with in fifteen minutes they were working five.

They turned up yesterday to fix it - together with a new pump but not a valve that they originally claimed was faulty - they ran the heating for 1/2 hour - no leaks - but last night I ran the heating for an hour and it still leaks - so I am DEMANDING a visit from the manufacturers
They have now been out 7 times (including a 10pm emergency call out on Tuesday night) for what ?
Exactly the same as 2 weeks ago
British Gas are INCOMPETANT
i disagree, i have always found british gas very very very helpful, and all of their engineers have been extremely helpful and knowledgable and honest. suppose it also depends on which part of the country you are from.

OK It is now fixed - the chap who started the whole repair business had put a pipe on skewiff which meant that it wasn't seated properly and leaked at the joint
The area manager came out yesterday and sorted it
He is returning this morning to double check and close the case - this will be visit 8 in 15 days.....
