Hello
My solicitor is currently sending away for the Searches on the property I am buying. The lady buying my flat is a cash buyer (not sure where she is up to but she'd definitely done the survey and it came back OK). The man selling the house to me is not in a chain and can leave asap.
On average, how long from doing Searches (And how long do searches take?) will they be able to give me an exchange date?
Then how long from the exchange date to completion please?
Thanks

Searches should not take long, maybe a week or so, if you want it done quickly you can exchange contracts and complete on the same day, have a chat with your solicitor and tell them you want it done , ASAP, good luck, Ray
Should take no longer than 10 days. as soon as they come back and get a same day exchange/completion. As Vanna says, speak to your solicitor and he/she will sort this out for you.

Wow that soon?
I'm seeing my solicitor Friday so will ask then. Thanks for the advice
Just constantly harrass your solicitor. My experience has shown me that they have a tendency to drag their heels and to work to a timescale that suits them. Like I say, constantly call them and liaise regularly with your agent (if you have one) and that should ensure that everyone involved is aware that you are onto them, and should (SHOULD!!) speed things up a little..
