I have a potterton Suprima 80L boiler and noticed that the central heating is not working and the hot water is eratic. It keeps locking itself out and I have had to reset it a number of times. Sometimes it ignites and the hot water is okay but I have not been able to get the central heating to work. I was told that it may be to do with a blockage in my radiators. I've heard that there could be problems with the circuit boards as well. Can anyone advise. I am being quoted from 58-78 for first hour for engineers to come out and Potterton is quoting 279 to sort out the complete problem.

It could be the Flow Sensor on the heating side that has gone and the overheat sensor on the hot water side that is on its way out aswell giving you an eratic performance. It is a simple job to change the sensors and should very easily be acheived within the hour by an experienced engineer.
