Definitive method for removing blu-tack?

Without repainting the room, what's the best substance/method for getting rid of blu-tack marks?

Our painted walls are in a state. I know our landlord will charge us a small fortune for redecorating when we leave if we don't solve it ourselves.

If there's bits of blu tack left on the walls get a big chunk of blu tack and dab it off with that - works a treat.
It's probably cheaper to paint it yourselves than let your landlord charge you for someone else to do it. Providing you can find the right colour that is.................

It's the greasy marks they leave that's causing the problem.

Probably would be cheaper to paint it - not sure I'll be able to find the exact shade of murky beige though...
try spraying WD40 on it works a treat with crayon and similar marks.........
