I'm moving to a new flat which has laminate floors throughout. I have always used a Dyson for carpets and laminate but I would like to know which particular Dyson I should buy? There are so many different ones! I will have rugs as well so I can't just make do with a sweeping brush and a mop (oh and while I'm at it can anyone recommend a good mop as I've never had much luck with mops!)

I've got a Dyson DC04. It's purple and green and can be adjusted for different types of flooring.
JML do a fab mop called Wonder Mop or Magic Mop and you can buy it in Woolies and Robert Dyas
I seem to buy a new vacuum cleaner every few years. They all start off well but then disappoint me (why do they never seem to pick up hair/fluff?) So, I bought a very expensive Dyson (which also disappointed me) and it has now been relegated to the garage (for cleaning the car). I have now bought a Miele, purely because I absolutely love my Miele washing machine (very expensive but well worth the money). I cannot recommend the Miele vaccum highly enough. It has lots of 'sucky' settings on it for different floor types. It' a Miele S5210 (just been in the cupboard to look). It's a cylinder type so will be good for your upholstery/curtains/matresses etc. As for mops, I sweep and then get on all fours with a wet wipe (better workout than the gym).
