combo microwave oven

Can anyone please explain what one actually is and how it works? Is it like and ordinary microwave, but also an oven? Is it more economical than a conventional oven? and can anyone recommend a good one at a reasonable price please?

I used to have a combi microwave. They have a microwave option and also a grill and conventional oven setting. I only ever used the microwave and grill options, but they are very good and space saving. Mine was a Sharpe.
