Personally, I think they are just about the ultimate act of vanity and are utterly utterly w4nky, but the one I saw this morning took the biscuit. I was cycling behind a convertible Beetle and the guy driving it had a plate with the suffix SAD and then in brackets underneath was his name (Scott Andrew Davies).
It took the biscuit for me because (1) he felt the need to let everybody know that the initials were for his name, (2) he was driving a girls car, and (3) the SAD suffix was very apt because he was indeed very very very sad.
So, has anybody seen a w4nkier plate?

it seems to me flip flop, that you are the sad one, driving a bike,(no car to put a private plate on) i expect you are one of these anoraks type people who are about 35,live with their parents and no girlfriend, and have a stack of old porno mags under your bed. i was poor as well once

Norm - bang on with the age: I cycle to work simply because its quicker than driving.

Do you have a personalised plate by any chance?
Hmm. Norm....you just proved flip-flops point. People with private plates can be arrogant, rude and only care about how flashy they look. "Hey i have private plate. People must think i'm rich and there for more important" Norms response is typical of the sort of person who thinks money buys/demands respect. I bet Norm drives a powerfull (there for more important) car like a BMW or a Merc (oh look i have money). I can see him now. Cutting up people, overtaking on the inside, tailgating. In you little money obsessed mind the whole world must reolve around you. I bet you don't have a stash of porn under your bed...you just jerk off over how important you think you are. "oh yeah i'm rich..oh yeah i've got a big car..oh yeah people must respect me...oh yeah i'm the best.........hey where's my personalised tissues......"
i actually drive a vw passat to work and back and its on a 51 plate, but the company does own 3 mercs,4 voyagers,1 bentley and a white stretch limo, and we have only one private plate,to shout about. and that came with the car,so you see im not that important and i dont roar along the road cutting people up, and being married for 28 yrs with 3 children,i gave up playing with myself a long time ago,im not that rich either,i dont have a mortgage any longer, paid it off 3 yrs ago,i live in a 3 bed semi in bedfordshire,my wife dosent drive,so we only have one car,any more things youd like me to put you right kev.just ask
I knew someone who had a personal number, two letters and one the number one. He got sick of everybody in the small town knowing where he had been, which house his car had been parked outside all night etc.
A few days ago, I saw a completely illegal plate on a van. P6RKY, where the 6 had been made to look like o. I don't wish to comment on the driver.
Oh and before Norm tries to bash me back...I have my own plave. I'm 27. I have a GF. I drive an 03 Focus. I'm on 20k a year. I don't feel the need to wear branded stuff nor wear lots of bling. I have been stoped for speeding once...6 years ago....anything else? Ok let the bashing begin.
whats a plave, kev.
I haven't got 1 but the wife has.
flip-flop, if you see W4 NKY up for sale anywhere can you let me know please! Thanx. :o)
What I find funny are those dyslexic wAnker5 who have personalised plates. Have you seen them? They usually drive suped-up VW Golfs and the like, but they've always got their (misspelt) name on them. At least I think that's what the letters 'GTI' are supposed to spell.
craig,i used to know a girl who had 003.5 (003 and a half)on her car,not your mrs was it
Ah i get it now Norm, hello btw m8, that took a while to sink in but i got there in the end!
No its not her, my wife in my eyes is a definate 10.
I've got a prersonalised plate, my name is T456 JCT!
I have to agree with flip-flop about - well let's give them their proper name - vanity plates

I particularly like vanity plates (saying "Everybody look at me") with darkened windows (saying "don't look at me")

I particularly liked the one I saw yesterday that said MI5 TIM

I just got the vision of all our security forces running around in cars with MI5 or MI6 on the number plates.

I guess that would be "Tim nice but Dim" in MI5 then
jake,i heard your plate was mr 8ig
Flattery will get you nowhere

But please don't stop trying

Someone who I think works or worked in this building (a lady) had an Escort Carbriolet with the number 69 as part of the registration, and in small letters on the bottom of the plate it said "Wine me, dine me, and then if you're lucky ...." which I thought was quite amusing.
nothing wrong with them in my opinion. Everyone likes to splash out on a little excess somewhere ;-)

I don't have one myself, cus I have other things to spend my cash on at the moment, (1st house) but I would if I could afford to blow the money ;-) - besides a private plate would be pretty dumb-looking on a hyundai accent lol

I have a reserve on 53X GOD muhahaha!

Besides I'm assuming your a woman flip-flop, sorry if you're not. You probably spend enough on make-up and heat magasines every year to buy a few "vanity plates"
