Does anyone know if I can buy a new base cover for a garden seat swing. The bit of material that the cushion sits on. Mine has been left out all winter and the material has rotted. The rest of the swing is fine and the cushions were kept inside. Is it possible to get a 'slip' on new cover - it covers the back and the seat but is just one piece of material. Thanks

Hi Princess Sue, if you find out the answer to that one I would be very interested! I just bought a swing seat frame off ebay for a 5. The previous owners had the same problem with a ripped, rotten base and they just went and bought a new one, taking all the cushions and covers off this one. Today I assembled it and I "wove" a base and back support out of very long lengths of that green very strong polyester garden string. It took a few hours but it is strong and firm enough to sit on. Now I just have to buy the foam and make covers for them and the sunshade!

hi diy girl - well done you! It seems ridiculous that you just can't buy a replacement - they only slot on. Never mind - me dear old mum has given it away to her gardner - who says he will repair it - and no doubt sell it on for a few quid too! Still, she went out and bought herself a plastic chair so she is happy now - apart from the fact that we've had no sunshine for days! take care and thanks for answering!
