It might be a language problem...
I have a knitting pattern here and they are using left and right twists.
No picture, just a description, but I don't get it.

Left Twist: Purl into the back of the 2nd stitch on the left hand needle, then knit the first stitch, slipping both stitches off the needle

Right Twist: Knit into the front of the 2nd sticht on the left hand needle, purl the first stitch, slipping both off the needle

Can anyone help and explain?

I know how to do this but it is very difficult to explain in text !
I can show you but that's not possible I'm afraid !
The back of the stitch means the side facing away from you. It's a matter of twisting the needles. So you purl into the 2nd stitch and then without taking it off the needle you twist it and knit into the first stitch and then take them off.
You sort of put the needle into the stitch and pull the needle towards you twisting as you go.
Probably clear as mud.!
Good luck with your project anyway and happy knitting.
I haven't done any knitting for a while but I think I understand it. Left twist: put your right needle into the back of the 2nd stitch (right to left) and wind the wool around the needle, pull the wool through but don't let the 2nd stitch come off the needle. Bring the right needle around to the front and knit the 1st stitch and then slide both stitches off together. For the right twist, put the right needle into the 2 stitch and knit but don't let the stitch come of the needle, purl the 1st stitch and slide the stitches off together. Hope you understand!
