My friend is sorting out her deceased mothers house and has found some items with crochet work on them,ie; towels, handkerchiefs, pillow cases etc. Is there anywhere in the Huddersfield area that would either value or buy these items?

I live in the North and had quite a lot of crochet mats, hankies, pillowcases etc. I have tried on several occasions to sell them at a car boot sale - no one looks twice at them, and have also hawked them round antique type/curio shops but to no avail. They just say there is no call for them nowadays. I guess the modern housewife probably wouldn't appreciate these old fashioned pieces - lovely as they are. Try selling one on ebay or approach your local curio type shop. Good luck

Thankyou I will tell my friend. It is a shame though, she also found some lace collars but I suppose nobody wants those either.
