Should I Water My Plant Now Or Not..

Ok so Ive had a small cactus plant for a while - it survived winter and has been kept in the kitchen. My family accidently watered it too much - the soil was soaked and i noticed the leaves were a bit brown.

I googled and it said to repot in dry cactus soil, leave for a few days and then water.

This is what I have done its been about 3 days and the leaves look more green now. Should I started to water it now and how much should I give it? Or should I leave it longer in dry soil?

sorry the picture is sideways on

That's more than likely a succulent rather than a cactus...I've seen it before but have forgotten what it is.

They hold moisture in their leaves and should not be over watered. Definitely let the soil dry out about 3/4  otherwise you risk root rot. When you do water, do so thoroughly then let dry out again.

I'll see if I can find out what it is. Hopefully I've not gotten things wrong!

It looks a bit like this...a type of kalanchoe

Or...a Gasteria

Thanks pasta. I actually wondered if it was a cactus as its not very spiky lol

Can't see a pic when I click that, but as pasta has said - if it's like her pics then it's prob a succulent.
