Heavy Duty Cat Garden Access Collapsible Tunnel?

The only way my cat can access the garden in my first floor flat is to go through the building to the front door. He won't, he hates people. The garden is sloped directly across from the side windows and the distance for him to get to it is about ten foot. We're not high up anyway, but with the slope it massively decreases the distance from window to garden. I've been here for 2 weeks following a Section 21 eviction and had zero choice but to live here (over 55s complex). Nobody uses the garden and it's a very "nice" area with no roads and lots of gardens surrounding ours. I can't rehome him, he's too nervous. I found him in a real state as a tiny kitten near death. He's 2 now. Here's the thing. I want to create/buy a sturdy access tunnel so he can go out for a play when he feels like it, as he used to. I don't think this is a stupid thing to do, by any means, but am asking for sensible, safe ideas, but will admit defeat if there's no way. I'm on the list for better places for us but in the meantime......anyone?

My friends used to put a folding ladder down for hers but only obviously when she was in .

but it was only 5 foot

A tunnel ? Like the rubble shoots builders use to get waste from the roof to the skip ? Doesn't sound safe.

Why not lower it down & up in a box/cage by a rope ?

Do remember to inform it that it's not to soil the nice garden.

I had a similar situation once, living on first floor. We put a very long plank of wood from 1st floor window sill (angle about 60*] down to the garden.

Took a few days training but after that he was fine.

He was called Charlie , a ginger Tom, a cat of little brain and we loved him dearly 🙂

Something like this ...
