Japanese Maple

Rudy the Rottie has eaten my Japanese Maples. He gave them a good pruning. Will they grow back or is the only growth on the branches?

Oh my days. I've just looked in the garden and he's started on my large Fuschia.

Is it branches that he has chewed off?

if so tidy them up by pruning the chewed ends and you may get luck, give them so extra fertiliser next time you water.

Get Rudy some outside chew toys lol.

Peanut butter frozen kongs were my saviour and no along time in the garden.

He has Kongs and chews including the olive/coffee chew things you suggested. Licky mats, balls, pully ropes, You name it, but he just wants the twigs. The Acers looks like someone has taken a strimmer to them 😂 He's lucky we love him.

How's Islay? What did the vet say?

Can you get nasty-tasting stuff to spray on anything that he might like to chew?

I wouldn't want to spray it on plants in case it kills them.

Islay has a badly infected paw, had it all drained and is supposed to be taking it easy but I don't think she got the memo!!

Try yak chews or antlers neither are cheap but may save your trees

A friend has just adopted an 8-week-old Lab/Golden retriever mix.  They are also due a human baby in the next couple of months. 😅
