Freezer Very Cold

An under counter freezer has been set on No 1 when we moved in.  Seems very very cold, ice cream hard to separate...  is this the coldest number ??

Some of them go up to eleven.

1 is usually the warmest setting.

Get yourself a freezer thermometer and twiddle the dial till the temperature settles on around -19C. A simple one costs less than a fiver - well worth it.

"very very cold"...yes, that's what a food freezer is meant to be...-18C. I agree with getting a freezer thermometer - and a fridge one too. It's the only proper way to know if they are at the required temperature.
