combined shower/mixer tap problem

i have a combined shower mixer tap, however, now when i litf the lever to direct water to the shower i'm getting a poor flow with water still coming from the taps! any ideas anyone? ang

If it worked before and its not now, then something has changed (obviously!). Could be build up of scale in the mixer - try cleaning it out with a proprietary kettle descaler/cleaner or diluted vinegar.

Yes, would agree with buildersmate, this is limescale buildup but you may need to dismantle the valve to clean it properly.
