Just back from toilet and found toilet seat bracket has snapped. May have it about 3 years now since I am unlucky with toilet seats. Soft close and only myself here so doesn't get much abuse.

Do you think 3 years is good

Sounds awful to me. But maybe this "soft close" thing shortens it's "lifespan".
no I don't. I'm about to replace a 15yo one that has cracked (owning to having a fat person using it). Maybe you could contact the manufacturer and see if you can buy the bracket separately
Depends how much you paid for it jj .

£30
Should have lasted longer for £30 .
Mine last much longer and there's 2 of us. We have standard seats with brass brackets.
Geez Jenny, how much punishment do you give a toilet seat?
mine broke after 3 years, they don't last long, even paying a lot, the brackets go.
Haven't replaced a toilet seat for at least 15 years, does bum size count?
no, as i said the brackets aren't all that good, mine was just replaced so will see how long it lasts.
i paid about the same as JJ, 30 quid.
i have the soft close quick release seat ,cost about £ 25
Dunny seats are cheaper downunder, and last longer
they don't here it would seem.
Aw crap,,,
exactly........
