Sorry, Mallyh. I just wrote a long description of a wasp/fly trap, and it disappeared before I could post. Start with a plastic pop or water bottle and use your imagination from there.
You slice the top off the bottle and then invert the top and insert it into the bottom (I hope you are taking this seriously!). Rig up a string loop to hang it up under your vine, then pour beer or pop or sugar water in and wait for the things to enter and drown.

yes that's what we have done x
mally; how long is it now?
You have to give them time to find it.
Am I odd/weird
But I let flies be flies.
They fly away eventually anyway.

Im NOT a vegan or anything but just
try and let nature be!
I get wasps, bees etc in my flat.
I just leave a few windows open and all is fine.

I get spiders, but just let them get on with it as well, see no need to kill them,
Maybe its just me,
But I see no need to kill any wildlife...
Nailit; Are you a vegetarian? Do you defend your lettuce seedlings from slugs? Do you eat fish? Do you take anti-biotics? They all involve killing other life-forms.
I do kill some creatures.
Question Author
with the bought ones normally takes a couple of days for them to find it hopefully the same with the home made one x

Do you not read previous posts atheist??
I'll try again....
//Im NOT a vegan or anything//
Is THAT clear enough???
You could get some venus flytrap plants - more natural. (and more interesting)
I just dont see the human obsession with killing insects...
I have the odd spider in my flat, I let it get on with it, I dont feel the need to kill it for gods sake! It keeps the flys down...
The odd fly/wasp/bee that flew through my window will fly back out again.
What the hell is it with wanting to be free of nature?
Would you want to kill a sparrow if it landed in your home?
davebro; But Venus don't catch and kill hundreds a day.
Nailit; I only attack animals which attack me or my food sources.
//Nailit; I only attack animals which attack me or my food sources.//
Plus insects obviously....
;-)
Nailit 19:24.
So you kill animals that you need for food?
Im sure that a fly will consume a huge amount of beef from your fridge....
//So you kill animals that you need for food?//
NO
Other people do that for me.
AND?
Killing for food is one thing.
Needlessly killing is another.
Nailit; you seem not to want to address issues that I raise, so thanks for your input, but I'll leave you here and we can perhaps talk some other time something more fruitful.
I think if I had hundreds of flies a day in the house I'd be looking for the source or looking to move. The only time I've come across that was with some friends on a dairy farm whose house was right next to the shippon.
//Nailit; you seem not to want to address issues that I raise//
Sorry, but obviously missed your raised issue...
maybe make it clearer next time ;-) ????

(What was it btw?)
daavebro; Not everyone can afford to move!
