Has anyone bought a dry iron recently? Mine has just packed up and I am unable to find a known make of dry iron only - I don't want steam. Some are named in reviews but disappear when I try to follow the link. I don't really want to buy on ebay. Many thanks for any help.

I know that Mamy, but I don't understand what's wrong with a steam iron with no water inside.

(and yes, I do iron things)
I'm sure they have their reasons but it's a product that does seem hard to pin down.
Nobody makes them probably because you can iron just the same without water inside.
A proper dry iron needs to be much heavier than a steam iron - a waterless steam iron is not the same as a dry iron.
I have had a good look at the irons advertised on the internet, even those that are out of stock or not available, and have not found one I would want to buy.

I would consider some of the used, vintage dry irons for sale on eBay such as this one

or this one
