Help! I have a mouse in the houseand have been trying everything but cannot get it caught. Anyone have any ideas as I am terrified if them. I have tried traps, food in the centre of this sticky stuff I bought. I don`t want to use poison as it will go off and die somewher and I will have a smelly corpse maybe. Also I want to see that I have got it for peace of mind.

Everyone else in the house just laugh but I can`t sleeep or anything. Please help

You can buy humane traps to catch them but you have to make sure you release them at least 2 miles from your home, peanuts are the best bait. They seem to be learning the art of desetting spring traps, so it may take several attempts before they get clumsey. Otherwise get a cat.
Borrow a cat, seriously the best mouse remover and deterrant in the business!
If you have one of the large garden centres near you, they often have a section of "animal deterrent" products, including spring mouse traps. I don't really like poison as a deterrent. The animal dies a slow and painful death probably tucked away somewhere where its body rots. So a quick and humane spring trap is probably the best answer.

...you've got a moose, loose, aboot yer hoose?

You can get very good plastic traps from your local DIY store - Very easy to set (like a big clothes peg) and you don't have to touch the victim when releasing it from the trap. We have a house in the country and 2 cats, but still get mice. Helpful hint, bait it with some mars bar! They can't resist and you can scoff the rest!

Oh and if you do have cats about, it's best not to use poison anyway...Although they won't touch it, they might attack dying prey. Good Luck!
We have the occasional field mouse come in, as has been stated, a humane trap is probably the best option, bait is a matter of choice, we have a %100 success rate using Scotch Pancakes. If however, its a grey mouse you've got, these little devils a more intelligent, and poison woul be your best option.
Try and find where they are getting in and block the hole. That way you dont even have to kill it.

Thanks everyone for advice, so far none caught, still trying , have traps everywhere. What am I doing wrong?

Has this mouse come in of its own accord? (I take it you don't have a cat?).

My cat frequently brings in mice (alive) and crops them in the living room for us....... and getting rid of them is actually not too bad.

If you can see the mouse you stand a better chance - simply shepherd it towards the front door / patio door and it will run out of its own accord. However, if you can't see it then that's a different matter altogether, I guess - good luck.
