Then it's your landlords responsibility to have Electrcity and gas checks done, and should give you a copy of certificate. See Mamas link above.

If he's renting to you via an agent that's why they are contacting you, it's in your best interests to know that everything is safe.

I am coming to you with updates. The man did come to my house and he unscrewed a load of my sockets. I said to him what are you looking for he said he was checking everything was OK. He did ask me many questions about them but I did not know I told him I came online for advise.
