Solar powered lights are fine in the summer. The long days and high sun angle ensure that the rechargeable batteries store sufficient energy to power the lights through the short nights. On a short dull day in winter however you would be lucky if the lights stayed on for more than an hour or two after dark.

in all honesty i only want them for decoration
My experience is that they don't last too many years. But I had the normal type. My woman has fairy light strings in the garden, and they seem a bit better lasting. So maybe your Amazon ones might be ok. And yes, they won't shine for too long in winter.
Already brought my stick solar garden lights in for the Winter. As OG states. No longer than 90mins after nightfall and they are 3 months old.
