We have chicken breasts in a homemade marinade (soy, honey, ginger, balsamic, hoisin and garlic), with roasted vegetables (tomatoes, onions, peppers and chicory) and swiss chard. The marinade will be reduced and poured over.

Going for a Chinese meal

That sounds lovely, Bobbi. We went for a Thai last week and it was superb.
home cooked fish and chips and mushy peas with lashings of tartar sauce
We had Indian delivered last night and had the leftovers for lunch. Just salad for us this evening.
Nicked a recipe off nigella. Roast cauliflower with cinnamon and cumin seeds. Add chick peas, harissa paste and tomatoes, when the cauli is cooked. I'll probably chuck in some whole garlic as well.
Salmon and broccoli fishcakes, chips and either salad or peas.

"Lazy-man cabbage rolls", also known a cabbage-roll casserole...Very tasty.

I think I need a recipe for that, Sanmac! That sounds right up my street.

All the others sound lovely too.
It's our penultimate day here and we have a favourite Chinese restaurant although last week there were only 9 people in ( 3 tables)

have a variety of ready meals, and also have come to the conclusion that they aren't that bad. so its a choice and i think i might have the lamb hotpot. I know it's a tad lazy, but sick and tired of cooking.

From a Nigel Slater recipe...mozzarella chicken with pesto gravy. No pesto, so I'll make up something with sundried tomatoes and a lot of garlic. Pan fried piccolino cherry tomatoes on the side.
I really must remember to make cabbage rolls...I've been wanting to for ages. It's just the right weather for it.

Sounds like people are planning more wintery meals now.
yes it's winter fare all right.
Will do something with chicken livers.
Salad again. Salad last night and no doubt salad tomorrow night.Last night Tuna. Tonight probably Sardine. Friday I'll ring the changes and have a jacket/chilli combo.
I will throw in winter meals like the occasional Irish stew but my food is the same all year round.

We all love salad in all varieties.

We don't stop eating curry in the summer so why stop eating salad in the winter :-)
