They might possibly be a type of Crinum lily. Do they have bulbs?
Look at the sort of tube shape behind the flower head. They appear more like a sort of tobacco plant?

no not agapanthus, they don't come in a real pink

It's the Jersey Lily, I have some in my garden - also called Amarylis Belladonna

Thanks to all, I think Lie in King has got it.
Belladonna eh ? Maybe there's a way of telling the two apart. Eat a bulb or two, and if you're still alive next day then it's probably sweet garlic. ;-)
