I switched off my heating, changing to hot water only a couple of weeks ago. I noticed that the pressure was low and the advise window on the boiler said to increase the pressure. I did this and now there is no water coming from my hot taps at all. Any suggestions before I start boiling kettles.

Have you checked to see if you have overpressurised ?
Water cannot just disappear, any obvious signs of leaks. You may have a gas blockage in pipes, open all the taps and let them run until water is flowing freely, and see if this helps. Any signs of water egress (leaks) from flue or boiler, possibly heat exchanger is not working properly.
Most odd. Cold water OK ?

Pressure should not affect hot water supply.

Isolate boiler from electric supply. The hot taps should flow, albeit cold.
There are several ways of topping up pressure on a Combi boiler.
Some involve two valves under the boiler.
One opens up a connection to the main in order to top up.
The other diverts the mains water from the hot water system to the heating side of things.

When you've finished topping up, these valves should be returned to their original state. My guess is that you haven't done this.
You've topped up, but left the hot water system NOT connected to the main.......... so... NO water.

Maybe ;o)
No water at all sounds like an airlock or a blockage.
Do you have any water at the hot taps, even a splutter ?

No, there is no water at all coming from any hot tap in the house, not even a splutter. Cold taps still running ok. I will look to see if I have turned the taps on boiler off properly as suggested, but im sure i have. Thank-you all
I would try doing as the --the builder says. Recently I topped the water up on our combi but didn't' put the taps back to the right position until my son told me (on our boiler the tap heads have to be in the horizontal position) . Don't know whether your boiler is the same but it might be worth a try.
Lady do you still have a manual that might tell you, if not download one online.
Do you have a hot water cylinder in an airing cupboard ?
