Broken Microwave?

My microwave is several years old. I just reheated a bowl of vegetables and had to put it in for 2 mins then 1 min then 2 mins before it was hot. I’m sure it’s struggling to heat! There are rusty bits in it too. Is this how they die, do I need a new one? Is it dangerous?

Worry if it sparks. Other than that if rust isn't getting into the food I reckon it's ok to use. However it may be getting inefficient so keep an eye on it and replace when it gets too much. That's what I'd do.
Mine has rusty bits, but is still going ok otherwise.
Daft question, but is it on the highest setting? Sometimes when I’m cleaning it I accidentally put it on a low setting.
I would bin it and get a new one, the door seals are not as good at sealing when rusty and can emit the micro waves.
Bin it. They’re cheap enough theses days.
Try a mug of water for 2.5 minutes at full power, it should be almost boiling.
