I drink bottled water because I can't stand the smell of chlorine in tap water. No matter how long I leave it to stand I can still smell it. Basically, I can smell bleach a mile off and it makes me heave.

So..........grateful for recommendations on a water filter that removes ALL chlorine smells please.

Thanks

all depends on your budget
I can’t stand the smell of bleach, but I happily drink tap water.
Have you tried boiling it and then storing in the fridge (once it’s cooled down)?
Not sure that you can remove chlorine, although added as a liquid, its a gas and and literally dissolved in the water. you could try boiling water first and then let the water stand. Use a bowl so you have a large surface area to help release chlorine.
I have got a Brita one and happy with it.
Chlorine (and chloramines, which is what it can become when added to mains water) are both removed by activated carbon. Most filters should contain this if they claim to remove chlorine and any other tastes/odours.
I resurrected the Brita filter jug that had been in the cupboard for years. I can't smell or taste any chlorine and it seems to have stopped the kettle scaling up as well. I have also bought a Sodastream and make sparkling water from the Brita water. Tastes exactly the same as bottled.
I know a couple who feel the same way and they solved the problem, not with a filter - they moved clean out of the UK which along with the USA has relatively recently taken up the habit of supplying water with significant amounts of residual chlorine. In fact, her skin is/was apt to suffer quite badly from UK water, and it was speculated that might have been due to too high levels of lime content - she noticed an improvement before moving but when out of the UK for limited periods, now she is fine. I know quite a few foreigners who dislike the taste of UK water and make a point of mentioning it.
Although american site, same principles will apply.

Are all Brita filters the same or do they have different types of filtration system?

My parents had a Brita many many years ago but I could still smell the chlorine and the water didn't taste good.
I have a Brita and it works for me.

Maybe I'm just too used to bottled water .

I really would like to change though to reduce my plastic buying even though it all goes in the recycling bin.
"the taste of UK water".... this ignores the fact that mains water supplied in this country comes from hundreds of different sources with wildly differing chemical analyses and supplied with very different residual chlorine levels.
"too high levels of lime content"...water contains calcium ions and carbonate/bicarbonate ions, not "lime". On rare occasions, calcium hydroxide may be added to artificially soften very hard water, but this is very unusual in the UK.
