Anvil and crossover. You can manage with one sort, but I believe one is better for hard twigs/branches, the other for soft stems etc..
Anvil is always better.
Crossover blades are more commonly known as bypass blades. (in my experience)
Depends entirely on what you intend cutting .. if you are cutting back a tree with branches an inch or so thick, you will need loppers .. you get more leverage with longer handles.
If you are just trimming twigs, roses and general trimming and snipping around plants then secateurs are the answer. I always have a pair of scissors at the ready as well.
A simple rule of thumb is: secateurs for pencil thickness and loppers for thumb thickness.

For a cleaner cut, I'd go for by-pass.
