Little Tigs tends to get very hot in his bed even in winter. I've switched his radiator off but he says he still feels hot. His head gets very sweaty so I'm thinking of getting a cooling pillow. He has a summer duvet but that is too thin and his feet get very cold even with socks on so its difficult to get the balance right.

Which cooling pillow would you recommend?

I have got a gel one....don't find it works well at all. What does the doctor say?
Have you tried replacing the duvets with blankets . I can't do with duvets. They make me feel damp and sticky.I would wake up with my nightclothes wet through.
I don’t know that cooling pillows work. I was recommended one by a fellow menopausal woman, but I found that once it gets hot from your body heat it stays hot.

Put woolly socks on and open a window for little tigs.
I had one and it works for the first 15 minutes but does retain your body heat.
Binned it.
Does he have waterproof mattress protector or one on pillow if so try without. Also non allergenic pillow
Addendum not sure how old he is but if under 4 try sleep sack instead of duvet etc

I haven't sought medical advise, Woof.

No, Andres, but will look into the blanket option.

Thanks CloverJo and Sharon.

He has a waterproof mattress protector but not pillow one. He's nearly 9 Calmck.

I tell him to turn the pillow round if he wakes up.
When it was really hot over the summer I got two of the cool pillows from Wilkos, they are a gel sheet and I found them quite good for cooling down initially. They don't need to be kept in a fridge but are a lot cooler if so. Think they were about £9.99 each.

Ah, this one: https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/jml-chillmax-pillow/p/0460656

I only use a duvet when it's really cold. I use bedspreads usually in a nice cool cotton material. Sleep on top of the duvet with the bedspread (and usually a blanket on the side in case I get chilly). Nice and lightweight to shift around overnight too, depending on how warm you are.

Good to get things generally in nice cool cotton rather than more synthetic materials.

You can get light cosy socks from places like Primark, warmer than normal socks and pretty cheap. They always have lots for women so would be surprised if they didn't have ones for children too.

Thanks Eve, I've seen the chillmax ones around.

Cotton PJs Eleena.

Last summer when it was hot he either wore a sleeveless vest or nothing (apart from pants).
Strange isn’t it how very hot their heads get!
Question Author
He sometimes leaves his vest on under his PJs when he forgets but I get him to take it off.
Question Author
He fidgets a lot before eventually falling asleep so I guess that's why he get hot.
All I can think of is what others have said, window slightly open, socks on x
What about a table top fan placed at a distance, one that’s encased for safety?
