During the wet spell my lawn is like a bog. The problem that I have is that there large patches of slime, just like Frog Spawn. Any idea as to what it is and how do I get rid of it?

Hey there! Sounds like your garden's been having a bit of a tough time with all this wet weather! What you're describing with the slime patches sounds a lot like a case of algae or moss buildup, which is pretty common in lawns that stay wet and don't get much sunlight.

Aerating your lawn can help improve drainage and prevent water from pooling. This also helps nutrients and water reach the grass roots more effectively.

For the slimy patches, a gentle rake might help remove them. Then, treating your lawn with a good quality lawn feed can boost the grass's health, making it more resistant to algae and moss. I've had great results with some of the feeds from Relentless Gardener: https://www.relentlessgardener.co.uk/product-category/lawn-feed/. They have a variety of options that could really help get your lawn back to its best. I stumbled upon this game-changer: https://www.relentlessgardener.co.uk/product/moss-killer-iron-sulphate/. ;This stuff is like magic; not only does it tackle the moss, but it also gives the lawn a lush, green boost.

Hope this helps!
