I have to admit I didnt, never thought about it until I got an awful smell from the rubber seal. Apparently it should be done once a month. Because a lot of people wash at lower temps now, it increases the chances of build up. So, I bought this .. https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/dr-beckmann-service-it-washing-machine-cleaner-deep-clean-250g/p/0333076

Also need to take the drawer out and clean, and filter thing at the bottom.

Yes. I use Calgon and run it on a hot wash.

I don't wash on low temps though. 40 is the min but usually go for 60.
Yes, i do mine once a month
No, but there is a bit in the rubber seal on my machine where about a cup of water is collected after a cycle. The ms step dad said to clean this after every use (remove water and dry) else it will go mouldy and build up.

Once i forgot to do this and it started to smell a wee 'stale' so i followed an ABERS advice regarding a cup of vinegar or something to give it a clean, did this then removed water where it builds up and smelt fresh again.

I can't remember the aber, it may have been cloverjo.
I've used it, it's very good. I periodically clean the rubber seal by washing with hot soapy water anyway - you'd be amazed at the scum that forms there.
Must admit that i have sadly neglected my washer since being on my own.I now use Power Force washing machine cleaner, seems to work.

Yes I wash on 40 ummmm. I was looking for white vinegar spray but opulent fund it, then came across this product. After this I'll keep up with white vinegar. Is average white vinegar 'distilled'?
I've read I should use distilled.

Oh thanks for the other product ideas! I have never ever given it a thought before!
I always aim to wash at 60 and put aside things that need to be washed at 40 (wool and stuff)

Thanks everyone.
yes I do mine about once a month. A lot of what I wash is muddy and dog hairy.
No. Mine's never got smelly.
Hi, Eleena....yes I do mine every few weeks and this tip from a service engineer....
Above the drawer are little grooves and channels....clean those with a cable tie to drag out any gunk.... :-)
I don't but only because I do a very hot wash with a biological powder at least once a week.
I do wipe the seal after every use and remove the drawer, rinse it out and wipe out the cavity.
From I get my new washing machine 4 years ago. I never use the tubs for detergent - just thrown the washing in and a few tubs of powder. Tubs are spotless
Have you pulled the drawer out, jenny?
...do what hc does^^ and have never had any mould/pong problems, ever.
