Best Stain To Use On Wooden Fencing

Any recommendations on the best product to stain a wooden fence? I live on the coast and need something that won't wash off after a couple of months.

Don't use a water based stain, especially as you live near the coast.

I think 'Sadolin' is a good product, but its not cheap.

What ever you decide on, make sure its compatible with rough-sawn or smooth fence timber that you have there.

There's no point in staining a modern fence - they're all pressure-treated with preservative.

Wouldn't dream of staining a fence particularly living by the coast. We live by the coast and ours are done using Cuprinol Shades. We quite like Seagrass but have recently redone using the Fresh Rosemary finish.
