for those who are not aware of this lady
yes...the last of a special generation of gardeners
Really sad but her legacy is in every plant growing in a difficult place, every drought tolerant, dry shade loving, leafy gem

Absolutely.
One of the special people. Bye bye, Beth.

There is a wonderful book, called "Dear Friend and Gardener" which is a documentation of frequent mail between Beth and the wonderful, late, Christopher Lloyd (Great Dixter)...........highly recommended to old-fashioned gardeners like myself!
I have got this! Its an excellent read.
What a girl. Another treasure that must now be hidden from view. Ten golds in a row at the Chelsea Flower Show. R.I.P. Beth Chatto.

Her beautiful gardens were widely renowned.
I sure she will be missed by many and I hope the gardens will continue to be well tended in honor of this remarkable Lady.
Just heard this on the local news, RIP Beth.
Her garden is just magical - when I visited, she was having tea in the garden with friends, unphased by all the people enjoying it with her (the garden, not the tea!)
